JR SHANGHAI OFFICE
Location: Jingan, Shanghai, China
Date: 2022
Design Brief:
The balance of nature with the commercial needs for any design project has become an important aspect for designers. Products and designs that can combine has become a basic requirement and a core of the process. Balancing the relationship between nature, commerce needs and end-user needs, much like a triangle, is crucial.
In terms of spatial division, the conference room occupies the center open area of the office and serves as an area for meeting, communicating and brainstorming ideas. To express the openness, the selection of materials and furniture are simple and clean, with natural light bringing a softer and more natural feel to the space. The open-plan office area breaks the tradition of the usual enclosed structure, increasing communication and collaboration between the team during the
design process, while inspiring different thoughts and ideas in a free and open environment.
The director’s office features a coexistence of openness and privacy, with sliding partition doors that can change the use of space as an independent office, a reception area, a closed off executive office.
